- If you are really interested in evaluating lines' quality,
- you may try Motorola 326x Series modems. From their LCD monitor
- you can find out phase jitter, phase roll, ..., receive level,
- number of retrains, signal to noise ratio, signal quality and
- error probability.
- In your case LCD is highly recommended, because it'll let you
- see how all these parameters are changing. If you simply use
- command mode (with the help of "+++" sequence), you will
- find out only what the line quality was when you issued
- AT-request. So, if line problems appear from time to time,
- only permanent control can tell you how frequenly they happen.
